This textbook is designed for Slovak and Czech university students whose major is English. It offers a succinct to the segmental features (speech sounds) of General Ameracan (GA) phonetics. Presupposing no prior knowledge of the topic, the reader is introduced to basic phonetic terms, production of speech sounds, and then to the individual vowels and consonants of GA.
